Um, hi. So my friend wrenlet sent me the IMAN vid you made to the song Weeping Willow, and...it was brilliant. Wrenched my heart out. I watched it about eighteen times in a row, and a different part got me every time. I think I'd rather watch it than an episode, because it distills everything I loved about the show into a quarter-inch space on a knuckle and then hits me in the diaphragm. In the good way.
"Willow" triggers tragic associations with me, everything from Desdemona singing a dirge on what's to become her deathbed to Willow on BtVS watching Tara die, so even if I hadn't googled the lyrics I would've thought the song was a good mood choice. But once I looked them up--genius. Perfectly suited not just to the screen action, but to the essence of the characters and the part of their relationship I think you were trying to illuminate. I especially liked "we hide our eyes and our love's aching" and "the world don't stop, there is no time for cracking up", and the "pills" and "see like I see" refrain--two things core to Darien, his drugs and his difference.
Thanks for making something so wonderful and sharing it. Now, off to view again!
