In Conclusion: BOBBYHOBBES
Nov. 27th, 2007 12:55 amDude, how frickin' cool is this?
lydiabell, who wrote my very very favorite I-man fic "Control" decided to participate in the very very nifty Moving Words and Pictures Challenge and? She decided to use a vid I made!!!! I am all a-twitter and it was soooo good. It was BOBBYHOBBES! And he, he, DUDE!
I am so very stoked right now. Go, read "There'll Be No Better Way" and leave feedback. I am still too blown away to form a response that is more coherant than "BOBBYHOBBES!!!" so you know... I'll be over here trying to think. Actually - I *do* have thoughts about how the only reason I ever wanted to make a vid about a character contemplating suicide (or suicide via Hobbes) is because Darien *knows* he can count on Bobby (and the devastating fallout for Bobby because, yeah, he'd help but it would - well it would kill him). I kinda want to apologize or explain this to the poor reviewers at Stranger in a Strange Fandom because, YIKES, "Weeping Willow" is really really not representative of the fandom as a whole. Like... there is only 2 instances in the source where Darien touches a gun that I DIDN'T use and in instance 1 he drops said gun and in instance 2 he was just running a gun over to Bobby during a shootout. He didn't actually shoot the gun, even though there was a shootout. He just ran it over to Bobby. Oh, Darien. Also, while there are a lot of needles used in the show - I think I vidded almost every one. What? I have a thing for penetration. So, my vid - while I'm comfortable with the story it tells, does the exact opposite of what I would want a vid to do in that it convinces people to NOT WATCH MY SHOW! Which, huh - I've made two vids that I refer to in the short hand as "WW" and *both* have inspired feedback along the lines of "I'll never ever watch this show."
Which kinda makes me the anti-fanvidder. I totally get Sam, now. I mean well.
Okay - so if you were under a rock or whatnot these last few weeks, Luminosity got interviewed by New York Magazine, which also featured "Vogue" and "Women's Work". I'm so fuckin' proud. She was so cool and smart and the interview was so well done that I was actually trying to get family members who don't quite get my "hobby" to read it over Thanksgiving. *That* is how made of awesome she is, but none of that is news to anyone who knows her.
In other news, I not only suck at guitar hero, I can't even score a 41% on "One" playing at the easiest setting, at the lowest speed on practice mode. Also, when you slow down "One" it becomes a very very long song. It is like the inverse of Freebird.
Dude. I totally want to try to play Freebird on Guitar Hero.
In other news, I am paying for Showtime for the month of December. It is for Cappy - cause nuthin' says Christmas like your friendly neighborhood super-hero serial killer. It has nothing to do with the fact that Doakes OWNS MY SOUL.
ahem.
