Pillow Talk
Jan. 8th, 2006 11:06 pmI met Dawn shopping today - she just recently adopted a rescue dog (a girl! A little girl! Well, a 97 pound little girl, but she is just the sweetest thing ever!) so we met up at Petsmart and got some essentials.
*is excited*
I have decided to start sleeping in my bedroom again. I always intend to sleep in my room and rarely make it - but today I decided it was because the layout of the bedroom is awkward and it is too hard to get to the bed.
Also the room is really really messy.
So, I vowed to clean it (and I did) and I also vowed to make the bed more inviting (which I did) and I decided to buy nice pillows cause Kohl's had a buy one get one free sale and Mom got me some pajamas for Christmas that were waaaaay too small. So - win, win - right?
Except buying pillows is complicated - I had no idea. The pillows differ in density or support or something depending on the way you sleep. And that is when it hit me: I have no idea how I sleep.
I have suspicions, sure. I think I am a back sleeper. I am not sure, though because standing there in the aisleway looking at pillows, I realized that everytime I pictured myself asleep or falling asleep or in bed, I was on my side. But I just don't know cause when I am asleep, I am sleeping! I don't go to bed until I am falling down, passing out (hence the mostly sleeping on the couch. I put my pajamas on reeeeaally early in the evening cause *who* knows when I will go down for the count. It could happen anytime and anywhere). If I for some strange reason go to bed and am not passing out - then I am all tossy and turny and OMG, what if I sleep on my stomach?? I never even considered that possibility. This is me, in front of the pillow display, at Kohls. I am truly a successful adult.
So, in the end, I bought the side pillows but it really could have gone either way. I am worried that now I won't be able to sleep tonight because I will be too hypervigilant regarding positioning.
