sisabet: (shattering sisabet)
Item One:

I post a lot. I mean - a lot. Depending on how stressed I am and whether or not I am using AIM as a coping device or if I am isolating myself -- then I will post even more than a lot.

These posts will rarely be entertaining to more than a few people. I am a niche blogger. Consider me a very specific genre that sometimes makes no sense at all. Like "Lexx" except I tried to watch that show once and it made no sense and kinda made my stomach hurt, so I really don't want to be it. Think of something else, and that is me.

Item Two:

I hate cut tags. Now, I use and appreciate their use when things that can either eat bandwidth or destroy layouts are posted (pics and quizzes) or can spoil a series/book/movie. Then cut tags are my friend.

But otherwise, I think of them as a very annoying thing that causes me to miss out on posts inadvertently because I miss a lot of things because when I see a cut tag, I sometimes think, "I'll read this later" and then I don't because my memory is a sieve.

I absolutely hate breaking up my LJ - I like to read my own journal uninterrupted and as a result? I only use cut tags for length with the post is *extremely* long.

This is just how it is - this is my LJ, my space, my preference.

Item Three:

My LJ is not your LJ - conversely, your LJ is not my LJ. There are many things about your layout, posting style and whatnot that I may have an opinion about. This does not matter because it is not my LJ. If my opinion leads me to believe that I'd be happy with you off my fList, then I will remove you from my list.

Simple as that really.

Item Four:

Sometimes people say they are fine with being defriended and then throw in some passive aggressive bullshit that makes you think they aren't okay with it at all. Such as "Today is national Defriending day, so all can defriend me at will, no questions asked. I don't know why you would want to read me anyway, I suck so much. You hate me." or something not quite as bad (I do exaggerate) but we can read between the lines.

I don't do that. Friend me, defriend me - filter me, add my journal and delete it 20 times a day. I don't care. Your reading list is your reading list. As long as you don't hack my journal and fuck up my reading list, we are totally cool.

Seriously, I don't care. I have many things in my life to care about - who may or may not be reading this LJ is not one of them. Unless that person is my boss. If this is the case, Hi, and I finished the TCP reports early and they are in your mailbox.

Item Five:

If my posting style, content, haircolor - whatever - bugs you, just defriend me. No one says you have to have this LJ on your reading list to read it. No - there is like a link or a search button and you just type in sisabet and Voila! Here I am. Problem solved.

If you are worried about missing out on locked posts, don't. I rarely lock posts, and when I do it is usually something only a very few people would ever want to know about - people that actually know me and if that is the case, then you'll still have access to my locked posts. *I* control who sees the locked posts, not you. You control who sees your locked posts and who is on your reading list.

We all have our own roles here.

Item Six:

You are just here for the vids. You found my LJ somehow and liked some of my vids and you are just hanging out waiting for more.

Oh, my - you poor, pitiful thing. I can't imagine a greater torture than having to listen to me ramble on about whatever it is I am rambling about on any given day and you just want to watch vids.

Defriend me and watch [livejournal.com profile] vidding as I am trying to remember to cross post there when a new vid is finished. I promise I won't think any less of you or bad of you or anything at all about you.

Just because you like my vids, does not mean you are obligated to like me. Just because you like me does not mean you are obligated to read about every single thing that happens to me.

I get the difference. I do.

ETA: I really thought I turned off comments when I first posted. I am disabling them now because there is not really anything to discuss at all and I don't need understanding. You get it or you don't. It doesn't really matter.
