I was a little confused by Clark flying. Because for a moment there he was in space and can he do that? Can Clark fly into outer space? I don't think he can.
This is the first time Clark (or his body) has ever flown unassisted -- his powers have been developing and he's awakened floating above his bed before and he knows that Jor-El - when on Earth previously - could fly - but this was the first time he has consciously defied gravity (although there was this one time he jumped from the roof of the Daily Planet into LuthorCorp...)
Now - can he fly into space? Well - he just did. What is the canon? There is a lot of different takes on it - movie canon has Superman all over the place in flight (he gets rid of an H-bomb in space in Superman II) and has General Zod et al flying thru space and messing up a moon mission with nary a care in the world or need of oxygen. Since Zod and Clark are both Kryptonian, anything Zod can do - so can Clark. Actually, I bring up Zod solely so I can say "Son of Jor-El KNEEL. Kneel before Zod!" hehehehe. Twenty years and counting and that still hasn't gotten old.
Now Superman IV also had him in space - but we don't want to go there. I can't remember Superman III - it had Richard Pryor in it and at one point Superman goes evil and/or splits in two and then he has sex with this blonde bimbo and that movie seriously disturbed me as a child and so I am blocking all but a scene at the end of Superman flying and carrying Richard Pryor over the Grand Canyon. Cause that shit was funny. The rest of it really bothered me and the Lana in that movie is now Martha Kent and none of that has anything to do with Clark flying in space.
Comic Toon Canon on Clark in Space - yes - yes he can fly pretty much anywhere although sometimes he needs a special breathing apparatus. Sometimes he doesn't. Sometimes he goes into exile and gets picked up by interstellar demon fighting troupe similar to Angel's deal in "The Ring" and sometimes he just ends up living with Wonder Woman for a thousand years on some weird ass plane and she is all "C'mon Supes, let's get it on!" and yet he never touches her.
Not once. We are talking Wonder Woman here. Have you seen Wonder Woman?
So frankly - if all they expect me to buy is that Clark can break atmosphere and fly in a vacuum - fine. I am there. Cause it sure is a lot more plausible then the whole Wonder Woman thing.
