Man. Just. With the. And then. And. Man.

Wow.

If they ran the second season and just called it "The Al Show" I swear I would fucking watch it. Cocksuckers.

Or they could call it "Alma and the Whores."

Wow. So when does Season 2 start - cause I might have to get HBO.

Episode 11-12 could also be called "When Sol and Seth decided to fuck some girls"

Aww - they are trying to separate. Boys, boys, boys - that would just be unwise. Trust me.

Still - Seth finds Sol fucking Trixie and he makes a beeline for Al's and hits the liquor hard. Then he has to apologize to Sol for being an ass - Sol has to keep Seth from killing Alma's daddy and then Seth is so outta sorts he decides to sleep with Alma and be the town's sheriff.

Who's your daddy, now?

Poor Seth - darlin' if you walk around town looking like the sheriff and talking like the sheriff and acting like the sheriff and saying "Now y'all - I don't want to be the sheriff" no one is gonna ever fucking believe you. Cocksucker.

I mean - every year I am like - "oh, don't worry about my birthday and don't make a fuss and why I don't need any gifts at all, it just isn't important" and hell I don't mean it. I want a people to make a fuss and gimme presents and I'm all passive-aggressively hurt when they don't, so Seth baby - I hear you. I understand where you are coming from and I am here to tell you that of course we want you to be Prom Queen - I mean Sheriff. We all agree that you've pretty much been that since you rolled into town. Seth - you are important to us and you matter. Now go sit on the porch with Sol.

Momma's gotta go see Al about a horse.

Chika, I am all about the bagman. Watching Al and the Bagman hook up, now *that* was fun.

And Al! With the Reverend! It was brutal, but Al's a brutal, hard man -- the only one hard enough to do that. And in an inexplicable way, that's the moment I fell hard for Al Swearengen, a hard, mean, selfish bastard capable of such brutal, beatific grace.

And Seth is just a lawman at heart, he can't help it. It's partly a matter of how injustice just makes his stomach hurt and his fists clench, and partly, on some dark level, of how it aims him and focuses him and gives him a place to maybe sometimes use those fists. If Sol isn't there to save him.

Yay, you've seen them all now! Now I can talk about how much I went nuts for the way the Reverend brought out the humanity in almost everyone, even though he was driving them batty. I agree with [livejournal.com profile] elynross about falling hard for Al at that moment... he broke my damn heart.

Let's hear it for the whores with the hearts of gold, and for a show that isn't afraid to make them intelligent and complete characters. Joanie really blossomed as a fascinating character, IMHO.

The best moment, though, is when Al and the Chinaman are yelling cocksucker at each other, trying to communicate. That was fucking priceless.

Hi. I love you. I love Deadwood. I love the internet. I don't remember doing this, but I seem to have downloaded a season 1 torrent a week or two ago (before you started watching and posting), so I have the show on my hard drive already! Wheee! I'd still love to come rewatch it with you. What are you doing this weekend? Working? What's Dawn doing this weekend? Is she busy doing something with [livejournal.com profile] truthseekersara? Because there's a special, last-minute, internet fare this weekend from Chicago to Lexington and I'd have to move heaven and earth with a plastic spork at work to get Monday off in order to take the special fare's Monday morning return flight, but I'd try. For Sol and Seth. And Al. Cocksuckers. Oh, and you and Dawn. Or I suppose I could not do the spork thing and drive, but I get exhausted just thinking about doing that on a two-day weekend. But you guys are probably busy anyway, so I should just stay home and watch it here and re-read your LJ posts. Yeah, I could do that.

When you first posted that you were watching this, my original response said something about how much he rocked and I loved him, but I knew you wouldn't get it then and that that might have even spoiled you a bit so I've been waiting for you to post that you were done. He is the ultimate in Magnificent Bastards. Lionel Luthor, Angeleus, the Senior Partners, and Brian Kinney would all drop to their knees in front of Al and just start sucking.

Line of the series:

"Announcing your plans is a good way to hear God laugh."
