Vid Rec! Smallville!!

sisabetI don't actually know how many Smallville people are on my fList and how many of y'all are just humoring me, but I suspect some of you of leaning in that direction a bit. If so - it is okay. I have decided that shows are what you make of them and I am making a lot from this one, so there you have it.

linzeems has posted her Fucking Lex Video, then I suppose quite a few people would go and watch it based on the title alone and then be disappointed cause the vid does not quite match the title. Sorry - she had to make do with her source and anyway - y'all are a buncha perverts and should be ashamed of yourselves.
And now - for the life of me I can't recall this vid's actual name - "Falling from the Sky"?? The song is by Vast and it is a rather nifty look at ole Lex and his becoming, which is a very favorite vid topic of mine - but not really a fic topic I enjoy on a comfort level. Lex-Becoming fic - well I find it interesting, but then I am all disturbed and need chocolate. I much prefer Rift-What Rift? or Fix-The-Rift or Lex Ain't Evil, He's Misunderstood in fic. But for vids I want something else entirely. I don't think I get me all the time.

Now I am thinking about what I want from fic and what I want from vids and wow - those are two hugely different things.
Add to that, I will generally watch good vids in any fandom and the best way to pimp me to a fandom is to show me vids - but fanfic...
Well, I tend to need that quite differently. I mean - there are some writers I will read no matter what -valereix comes to mind, but generally I am at least serially monogamous when it comes to reading fanfic. I like it in one fandom at a time, please. Possibly because the areas of my brain that are stirred while reading prose are quite different from the area I use when watching a vid...
Don't even get me started with the comic books/graphic novels. I have decided that I just don't know how I process that - it is like this strange combo of vid watching and reading without a soundtrack - because I swear to you - just like when you are utterly engrossed in a novel - you *see* and hear shit from the book - but you don't and you know you don't - but you *do* - the interpretative center of your brain that tells you that you are reading gets shut off and you just - well y'all know- that same shit happens with a graphic novel when it is working - the damned panels start moving and there is that same disconnect... but it is different.
I'm thinking a lot about that right now and if that is what I find so interesting about Anime vids as well and none of it makes any sense yet... but I felt the need to share.
