Animal Musing...

Dear god, I want a kitten. I want one so much my chest hurts.

I know this is just because of insanely cute kitten picture posts on my Flist. If someone had posted another series of Angel!Puppet photos, my chest would be tight from the wanting of it.

Also - key thing to remember here - chest and tight. I'm not nearly as allergic as I once was, but I still am and this is not something to hold lightly.

Also - no room. I have just enough space for me and Sidwickian the Magnificent. If I added another creature to the mix, the balance could be offset. Also - Sid is a spoiled only dog and has been such for at least a good portion of his life. He liked cats and kittens in his puppyhood, but asking him to accept one now - now that he is firmly in his adult years, would not be fair.

But, but, cute! Look at the precious kittens!

*turns into total girl*

Work has been so nonproductive that I might as well not have been here. Worked all morning on a document that then froze and the IT guy now says it is gone forever. Well, yay! I am trying not become bitter - but that was an entire morning - gone. I coulda been reading LJ for the good it did me.

Oh god. Now I want an Angel!Puppet holding a kitten. That would be - well that would be the best thing ever.

If I had a kitten I'd name it Jones and call it Jonesy.

Sid-N-Jones could then be a crime-fighting or mystery-solving duo in my head. Like "Moonlighting" but without the UST.

Except Sid is no David Addison. No, I know my dog and while he would really, really like Dave, he doesn't share elements of his personality. A cat with Dave's personality would be quite the exciting and strange cat, though. It would be easy to have a Maddie Hayes cats. That is kinda the default cat persona-type anyway. A David Addison cat would be really special.

Sid is more Mulder-without-the childhood-trauma-but-all-the-issues anyway. Maybe he is Monk. I should watch that show more often. My dog is a tad bit paranoid and does some very strange things - but it works for him. At least he is interesting. I know a lot of dogs that are just Tony Danza's character from "Who's the Boss" and that would just really suck.

Man, what if in an alternate dimension I had to live with a dog and cat acting out "Who's the Boss" everyday? Remember Lindsey's suburban hell? I'd rather be there.

So maybe it is a good thing that I remain a single pet person? I wonder if I got a goldfish and called him Lenny if Sid would start opening the door and going "Hel-lo!"...

I couldn't resist doing this. I am totally dying from the cute factor alone.

It is like a never-ending parade of fluff. On one level I am charmed and on another I am horrified.

I think the cynical, uncaring side of me is no longer speaking to the rest of me.

Oh look! A ball of gray kitties!!!

Important safety note: Kittens will eventually turn into Cats, which are different balls of fur altogether. Not nessarily less pleasant to have around than a kitten, but their cuteness factor drops considerably the first time they pee in your clean laundry. Plus, you're never quite sure what their adult personality will be like. Better to adopt a grown cat from a shelter, where you can get to know them a little before taking them home.

Good point. Also, a kitten would really be too young to effectively fight crime with my dog.

Moonlighting....

That was a good shipper show, until the last season..
What is UST? (unresolved sexual tension?- well, no... they did resolve it eventually- which is pretty much when the show went downhill. But not before that wonderful moment when Dave pounds on the door and Mark Harmon answers....

Unresolved or Unrequited - yeah. And in my "Moonlighting" it ended after the resolution. The tension was resolved and that was that.

Hey - the show is coming to DVD in November.
