VIVIDCON 2004 BABY

You know you wanna go.

I just hope to finish a vid before August.

You don't have to vid to come to vividcon. At the moment, half the registrees are not vidders. The con is for *watching* and *talking* about vids. There are lots and lots of panels that are not about the making of vids.

It's a blast.

[identity profile] sisabet.livejournal.com 2004-01-16 01:02 pm (UTC)(link)
You would have a blast. All I am saying. Blast. You. With the having. I will shut up now.

I do know I wanna go. I just don't know if I can :/

Well, plus uhm, I don't vid. And they've got limited spots.

Vividcon isn't just for vidders! It's for people who love vids, and for people who like to talk about them as well.

[identity profile] falzalot.livejournal.com 2004-01-15 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
And then there's those who just like vidders. :-)

*heh* Looks like I've got 6 months to learn how to swing.

[identity profile] tzikeh.livejournal.com 2004-01-15 03:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Many of the people who come to vividcon are not vidders! It's mostly for watching and discussing vids, not making them. There's *lots* to do and see and talk about.

[identity profile] wrenlet.livejournal.com 2004-01-15 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Heehee! Well, see, how close do they get to the membership cap, though?

I have Money Issues, also, so... hell, I wouldn't know for months if I can even afford it. *kicks the husband*

(BTW, what is the exploding-planet clip from? I keep thinking I recognize it. I'm going to feel like a dunce when you tell me, aren't I?)

[identity profile] tzikeh.livejournal.com 2004-01-15 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
You can sign up without paying - the membership cap is 100. I believe we currently have 25 people signed up. If it turns out that you can't come / can't pay, we fill your spot with someone on the waiting list.

The exploding Earth is from Odyssey 5 - there was a vid last year which used this clip which pretty much became the talk of the con, and is now basically our second mascot, after the llama.

[identity profile] sisabet.livejournal.com 2004-01-16 12:57 pm (UTC)(link)
It is mucho, mucho fun.

Also - the exploding clip *was* the talk of the con - the vid it is from "Haunted" blew everyone (literally - the Earth blew up) away during the Premiere show. Holler at me on AIM tonight and I'll send you the URL to the vid itself - I highly recommend it. I can also give you 101 reasons to attend VVC.

[identity profile] wrenlet.livejournal.com 2004-01-16 02:00 pm (UTC)(link)
$260 just for the plane, as of today. Hmm. Hmm. *fret*

I am sad I never saw Odyssey 5 :(

Ooooh. *is torn between Vividcon and Moonlight Rising, at which will be the ONLY East coast appearance of GotR this year, but is also in the raging boonies*

*wiffle*

*waffle*

*hemhaw*

Well, I don't know 100% that I'll be able to go, but dammit, I'm gonna bombard those people with vid submissions this year. Make up for missing it last year - hee!

[identity profile] sisabet.livejournal.com 2004-01-16 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, you have *met* JM before - right??

Sigh. Yeah, I know - it really doesn't matter if you've seen him before. I understand...

::pouts and will continue to pout if you don't go to VVC::

Oooh. Chicago in August.

::thinks, looks at bank account::

Oooh. Wanna.

You've got time to get the money - it actually is not that expensive at all - the hotel is very reasonable and the rooms have fridges so you can cut down on the food costs.

Also - did I mention the big, huge fun?? Cause there is. Big, Huge, Fun.

[personal profile] cynjen 2004-01-19 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, the Big, Huge, Fun is the draw :) and the hotel does look very reasonable, but I'm English, so the transatlantic flight is something of a money-grabber (currently going at about £600, which is crazy, 'cause for travelling in February it's a third of the price). But, definitely something to save up for, maybe.
