Your post has me reminscing about the location of my friend Emily's house where I lived for several years. From the backyard you could look across to part of the local college's tiny golf course and, past that, to a paper company plant and an automobile parts manufacturing company where I temped as the office manager in the sales and engineering department for about half of a summer during grad school. ::is nostalgic for their movable electronic wall filing system for part specifications:: That was a great commute to work. It was only about a block away, but most of the time I was running so late and wearing such girly shoes that I drove. I've never had so little time to goof off on the job. I would have started cutting myself if I'd had to work there permanently. I doubt the replacement temp I "trained" before I left lasted a week. They got a decorated sheet cake for my last day. Good times.
