Escapade and songvids have a long history. (Just ask Jennifer, who spent the first Escapade vid show shuffling VHS tapes in and out of a VCR at the front of a small meeting room.)
Technology has changed. The community has changed. Vidding has changed. Interest rates have dropped. And the Escapade vid show continues to evolve with these changes. This year, the vid show will consolidate the changes from last year, in the ongoing effort to create an enjoyable watching experience.
We will be staying with one formal show on Saturday night, with Friday being available for informal showings. In keeping with the new technology, vid submissions will be accepted electronically. Details to follow by December 18, including format requirements and ftp location for uploading. We now have a dedicated mailbox for vid questions and requests. The deadline for video submissions will be February 2, 2005. Earlier submissions are, of course, welcome. Submissions will not be accepted by hand at the convention. Vids from attending vidders take precedence over non-attending vidders. We will try to showcase the widest variety of vidders possible. We will have an online form for submitting info on your vids, to assist us in planning. The tech track and alternate programming rooms will continue to be available for vidders who wish to organize their own showings. Escapade does not censor or screen vids for content.
