I Was Kissing Valentino by a Crystal Blue Italian Stream

This is the first chance I have had to check LJ and my email today!! I have been working! Hard! And - now this is the kicker - kinda enjoying it.

I like evaluating files - reading everything we have and breaking it down into a story. This is cool. Also - I learn about some pretty cool injuries like broken mandibles and scalp de-gloving and this really helps torture the characters I love in my head.

I've already scalped Justin, so not going there again - BUT - now I am thinking about that summer that Wes broke his jaw and had to have it wired shut. It was kinda nerve-wracking because he is already so thin and he lost like 15 lbs in two weeks. His relationship with Angel did not suffer however - as long as Angel's mouth is not wired shut...there was really no reason for it to...Hmmmmm....

*happy place*

My job helps me torture the few fictional humans I love. This is a good thing.

Also on my list of good things: SLAYAGE!!! And all the cool people that are now coming - I am so fricking psyched. So - if you are gonna be at slayage - speak up here. I needs to know. Nothing says Buffy Studies like downtown Nashville, if you know what I am saying and I think you do.

Lex heals way to quickly to be any fun. As do slayers. Although - Lex with his jaw wired shut could be a *lot* of fun.

I'll be at the "Slayage" conference, too, though when I checked the program, I saw that my panel ("Religion III" -- how inspiring and original!) is on opposite your presentation Sunday afternoon, so I won't get to enjoy that.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing you there.

But! But! I wanted to see your panel.

You're so sweet! And I definitely wanted to see yours.

The scheduling sucks big-time, doesn't it? Plus, now I have to be prepared to fight you to see which one of us is in more need of having Miss Murchison attend our presentations and provide moral support: Me! It's me! I need her far more than you do! And I'll hold my breath if I don't get my way!

Now that we've settled THAT question in a mature and reasonable fashion . . . !

Seriously -- Will you be attending the reception Thursday night, and/or the banquet/OMWF sing-along on Friday night? I'm planning to be at both of those. And I'm chairing a panel on "Mothers, Fathers, Families" just before the supper hour on Saturday. We must, must, must find time to connect and raise a glass or two or three . . .
