If it wasn't for the fact that I refuse to see them as doomed (and I'll stomp my feet about it too!), this seems to work for Highlander. You've got Duncan for 'helpless' and Methos as 'hopeless', as well as the Partner/Protector. :-) Wow! Archetypes!! And all this before diet coke!!
