Last Night's TV -OR- Huh?

I am now going on 4 days without checking my email. At this point I think I am afraid of it. I have no idea why. This is a new level of avoidance and I actually get stomach-achey when I think about it too much. So I won't. And I will check my email. Eventually.

::clenches teeth::

Let's talk about TV instead.

Cutting for Smallville 3x10 and Angel 5x10

Smallville

Okay, so I spent a week talking this show up to all and sundry, practically begging people whose opinions I value to watch the show and they unload that pile of crap on me. Damn.

Last night's episode, like much of season 2, is much much better on mute. Trust me here. Seriously. On mute, it is the prettiest and most entertaining thing ever and you don't have to deal with the horrible dialogue.

I hated Clark in the sunglasses. I don't know why, but my reaction to the Ray Bans were even more severe than my reaction to Lana. It was just - ugh. Take those things off. I was also disappointed that Clark wasn't more intrigued by having a disability - I mean Mulder would have been so excited if he ever woke up blind. Or with a peg leg. There was a really interesting angle to explore with the blindness and it just sailed right on by. So sad.

I don't get the Lionel-Chloe-Clark-Lex version of the telephone game played. Shouldn't Clark had told Lex that his dad said he will be "sharpening pencils purple dresser drawer"? And why in the world did Lex use the same exact phrasing when speaking to Lionel? Have none of these guys ever played the telephone (in some circles called The Gossip) game? Yeah, I got a warm fuzzy at the end when Lex informed Clark that he was protecting him from Lionel, but dude could have handled the situation totally differently and would never even need to protect Clark. Sadly, I think this answers my questions about the effect of the electro-shock therapy and yes, Lex did suffer a brain injury. So very sad.

Of course none of this matters and I will get over all of my disappointment in the stupid mutant (what was his power again - exactly?), dumbass contrivances (so the Judge will let him go free and huh?) and Lana going "Don't be alone Clark. Accept my help Clark. Be here now Clark. Oops, sorry Clark, I've got a boyfriend." WHATEVER. I am so fucking over it. I don't even care. THIS EPISODE RULED.

You know why?

Glasses.

That is right. Oh MY FREAKING GOD! ::swoon::

Clark walked out in the glasses and I went "Oh." for five minutes straight. Damn, I love me some Clark Kent.

Angel

You know how I was all incoherant about SV last week? This week it is Angel.

Initial Impressions:

OMIGOD

OMIGOD

Angel dreams about being in bed with Spike and Buffy.

I loved Angel's dreams. I want to cuddle him and then do naughty things. He had a bear, ya'll! A bear. Angel has fever dreams like I have fever dreams. The only thing missing was Rob Lowe.

Spike is looking way old. I have often wondered about a Lindsey and Spike pairing over the years and last night I realized my impression was "Eh."

Spike is looking old. When you could only see his head and shoulders in the bed with Angel, I thought at first Angel was in bed with a really old man and was kinda squicked - cause the hair looked white and he has old man neck, you see.

Spike needs a makeover. The hair has to go.

Fred and Harmony both looked beautiful. I like Fred now - but not her satin red shirt/black skirt outfit. It was kinda sleazy.

My heart aches for what is happening to Wes. Gray suits him, but losing his sould does not.

I am now officially afraid of Gunn. More thoughts later.
